Immediately get a big hit of citrus aromas. Candied Orange and melon with hints of mango which is backed up on first sip. A little bitterness that I come to expect with a Sierra Nevada style IPA and a little bubblegum as the beer settles and warms. Quite a clean, thin body makes this an easy drinking beer. I was fortunate enough to have their 30th anniversary ale which I sat on for a few years before drinking. This one is designed to drink fresh. Can’t wait to see what the 50th anniversary ale will be. (A barrel aged Narwhal or a returning Red Rye IPA would be nice)
