A beer based on the Aussie dessert classic, the trifle. No real aroma to speak of, however, is it possible to smell sour? Because I can smell the intending sourness. Thankfully, it’s not that puckering on first sip. Little raspberry jelly flavour at first. It’s followed by a citrus and a sharpness from the souring process. Quite smooth for a sour ale which I think is helped by the lactose added to this beer. Trifle is one of those foods where I never really want it but when I get a bowl of it, I absolutely love it. This beer is the same. I didn’t think I wanted this, but am enjoying it immensely.
