Abbey Brewing Company

Staying down on Miami Beach, I wasn’t expecting to find a brewery to visit. Especially one that caters to Belgian beers. But a half hour walk from my hotel is where I found this little gem. Inside was like a typical American bar – dark but comfortable and a good place to escape the Miami heat.

Again, these guys don’t mess around on flights either. Not exactly tasters. More like glasses (250ml) of each!

Flight #1

Lemon City Gold – crisp Kolsch

Oktoberfest – Märzen

Father Ray’s Schwartzweizen – smoked Schwartzbier

Immaculate IPA – American IPA

Sister Tina’s Tripel – Belgian Tripel

Father Theodore’s Imperial Stout – Russian Imperial Stout

Brother Aaron’s Quadrupel – Belgian Quad

Great beers. The Kolsch and the RIS being the standouts for me.

I drink beer. And occasionally I'll write about it. But mostly, I drink beer.

I lived in Fort Lauderdale for many years. The Abbey was a real forerunner in the craft beer scene in south Florida. Glad you made it there and took some nice photos of the pub. I never did and sorry for it. Gotta get back there next trip!
